Each signal is normalized against a fixed reference before weighting. The logarithmic curve compresses large gaps without reversing their order. Adding another song does not change an existing score.
Signal points = weight × min(1, ln(1 + 10 × value / reference) / ln(11))Weights and references are Chinkoo’s beta editorial choices, not validated popularity coefficients or industry averages. Changes require a new version; earlier rules are not silently rewritten.
Weekly references: 7 million views, 175,000 likes, 17,500 comments, 50 reaction channels, 50 dance channels and 25 vocal channels. MV references scale by days; creator references use fixed multipliers of 2/3/4/5 for month/quarter/half-year/year. Each period is recomputed from originals, never from summed weekly scores or channel counts.
Totals use one decimal place and competition ties. A headline ranking requires complete measurements for every song in the fixed comparison set and at least five positive-score songs.
What this index can — and cannot — tell you
These are related signals, not six independent proofs. Comments or reactions may include criticism; covers may involve promotion. The index does not remove advertising effects or measure approval.
A channel counts once per song, category and period. A channel can participate in multiple categories; their sum is not a unique-person count. Search and submitted videos are distinguished from the fixed observation panel.
Likes and comments use net change, including removals. Negative corrections or missing measurements require checking. Boundary snapshots have a disclosed maximum six-hour tolerance. Tiny score gaps should not be read as exact, time-aligned differences. Missing release-day history is never fabricated. These are calendar periods, not the first seven days of each release.
